The TaylorMade Qi4D Max 3 Hybrid at 20° is a forgiving long-game option for golfers who want high launch and a more stable alternative to a long iron. This Regular build uses the REAX HL 50 by KBS shaft, listed at 50 g. Its larger Max head and rear weighting are designed to help keep shots playable when contact moves away from the centre, while the 20° loft defines a clear distance-gapping role.
An 8 g TAS weight sits towards the rear of the head to support higher MOI, stability and forgiveness. The carbon crown helps keep the design light, and TaylorMade’s Speed Pocket is intended to preserve ball speed on low-face strikes. Twist Face curvature aims to moderate dispersion on mishits. Unlike the standard Qi4D hybrid, the Max model prioritises launch and forgiveness and does not use an adjustable loft sleeve. Use measured carry, height and strike consistency to decide whether the 3 Hybrid should replace a long iron or complement a fairway wood.
The 3 Hybrid reference build measures 40.75 inches, with 106 cc head volume, D2 swing weight and a 59° lie angle. Right- and left-hand versions are available. Compare it with your longest iron and first fairway wood, then check the landing window on real approach shots. The Regular REAX HL 50 build gives you a specified shaft mass and model for that fitting.
